On August 25th, the 8th China (Guangzhou) International Elderly Care and Health Industry Expo (referred to as "Guangzhou Elderly Expo") successfully concluded in Zone B of the Canton Fair Exhibition Hall. The total number of domestic and foreign visitors exceeded 76000, among which 33200 pre registered professional visitors attended the event for sightseeing and procurement. Whether it is the exhibition area, the number of participating companies, or the total number of attendees, the 2024 Guangzhou Elderly Expo has achieved a historic breakthrough, fully demonstrating the vitality of the "Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Elderly Care Exhibition" and injecting strong momentum into promoting the innovative development of China's and even the global elderly care and health industry.
The exhibition area of this year's Old Expo is nearly 50000 square meters, with the theme of "Developing New Quality Productivity and Colorful Silver Hair New Life". It includes special exhibition areas such as elderly care services, smart elderly care, institutional elderly care and travel health care, rehabilitation nursing and auxiliary equipment, aging and healthy homes, elderly products, silver hair economy new quality exhibition area, elderly health food and health management, and intelligent competition award-winning product display area. Over 500 companies and institutions from more than ten countries and regions, including China, Japan, the Netherlands, Germany, Hong Kong, and Macau, gathered to participate in the exhibition. They showcased new products, technologies, and solutions for elderly care for the first time, as well as smart elderly care equipment, health management services, rehabilitation aids, aging friendly renovations, and elderly education and entertainment that are closely related to daily life. More than 3000 cutting-edge elderly care products, technologies, and services competed on the same stage, vividly demonstrating the vigorous vitality and enormous potential of the elderly care and health industry.
During the exhibition, more than 30 important activities were held, including government exchanges, summit forums, roundtable dialogues, supply-demand docking, strategic signing, roadshow promotion, launch ceremony, skills competition, award ceremony, business investigation, etc. Renowned experts, scholars, industry leaders, and policy makers from home and abroad were invited to conduct in-depth discussions on hot topics such as trends in elderly care policies, technological innovation applications, market opportunities and challenges. This provided an important stage for various regions, industry associations, and enterprises to enhance communication and exchange, discuss cooperation opportunities, promote industrial development, and advance industry progress.

Multiple multi-party collaborations were achieved throughout the entire exhibition period. Guangzhou and Hong Kong signed a letter of intent to promote elderly care cooperation between the two regions at the meeting, helping to accelerate the integration of elderly care in the Bay Area. The Guangzhou Civil Affairs Bureau has also reached strategic cooperation agreements with Guangzhou Open University and Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine on high-quality development of elderly education and "Traditional Chinese Medicine+Elderly Care" services for elderly care service institutions. Yuexiu District People's Government, Yuexiu District Civil Affairs Bureau, Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Guangzhou Yuexiu Health Care, China Life Insurance (Guangzhou) and many other institutions and enterprises have signed the "Yuexiu Silver Age Loving Festival" launch cooperation agreement.
Silver Hair Economy New Quality Industry and Visiting Delegation from Various Industry Business Associations
This year's Guangzhou Elderly Expo has set up the first "Silver Age Leisure Festival&Art Festival" in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, focusing on the practical needs of energetic elderly people pursuing high-quality elderly life. Together with the Civil Affairs Bureau of Yuexiu District and Baiyun District in Guangzhou, we have carefully created the "Yuexiu Silver Age Leisure Zone" and "Baiyun Silver Age Carnival", and launched the Silver Age Goods Market with brand exhibitors. Nearly 2000 members of 107 art teams in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area brought more than 100 wonderful and unparalleled art performances, which have been unanimously praised by the general public.
The 9th Guangzhou Old Expo will be held again at the Canton Fair Exhibition Hall from August 22-24, 2025. It will continue to play a leading role in the silver hair economy industry, continuously promote resource docking, technological innovation, and industrial upgrading by building a more efficient and open communication and cooperation platform, and contribute more "Chinese wisdom" and "Chinese strength" to the sustainable development of the global silver hair economy.
